Summary

The Disclosure API enables participating CDP Software Providers to directly input responses to the CDP Response System, through an API, helping to support and streamline your disclosure process. You can find the full list of Software Providers providing an API connection this year in this blog post.

Software Providers currently use their own software tools to capture data and perform necessary calculations for organizations disclosing to CDP. The Disclosure API reduces the reporting burden for organizations responding to CDP and increases the quality and quantity of disclosure. The API works across all CDP questionnaires and authority types.

Before adding a Software Provider to your response please ensure you have read and agreed to the relevant section in the CDP Disclosure API Terms of Use.

API Partner Onboarding

Pre-requisites

To be able to add a Software Provider to your response, onboarding for the current disclosure cycle must be completed and submitted. The questionnaire setup is a required step within the onboarding process and must be completed before a Software Provider can be added.

The onboarding tile will be visible in your Portal homepage. For guidance on completing these preliminary steps, please refer to our Onboarding steps for Disclosers article.

Granting access to a Software Provider

Access to a Discloser’s response is controlled by a relationship mapping between the Discloser and the Software Provider. Please proceed with the following steps to add a Provider.

Note: If you wish to grant Portal access to a Software Provider but have not yet contacted your chosen provider, please do so as soon as possible to ensure they have the capacity to support you during the disclosure cycle.

Step 1: Open the Disclosure API page

  1. Sign in to yourCDP Portal. Refer to ourAccess and navigate the CDP Portal as a Discloser article for any guidance or troubleshooting on accessing your Portal.

  2. Navigate and select ‘Settings’ from the expandable sidebar on the left side of the homepage.

  3. In the Settings page, select the ‘DISCLOSURE API’ tab, as shown below.

On the ‘Disclosure API’ Settings page, you will be able to:

  • View any existing Software Provider(s) already connected to your account for this cycle.

  • Add a new Software Provider.

  • View your unique CDP API ID, which your Software Provider(s) may request to access your CDP response.

Step 2: Select a Software Provider

To select a new Software Provider:

  1. Select the red ‘+ Add provider’ button at the bottom of the ‘Disclosure API’ page.

  2. In the ‘Add provider’ pop-up that appears, you will see a list of available Software Providers. Tip: Use the search tool to filter the list if required.

  3. Select at least one Software Provider from the list.

  1. Once selected, the red ‘Confirm selection’ button at the bottom of the pop-up will become enabled. Select ‘Confirm selection’ to continue.

Step 3: Confirm authorization and add the Software Provider

If this is your first time adding a Software Provider during the current disclosure cycle, you will be asked to confirm that you have the required authorization to provide external access to your CDP Response in the second page of the ‘Add provider’ pop-up.

  1. Once you confirm this and select the checkbox, the ‘Add software provider’ button will then become enabled. To complete the process and add the Software Provider, select this button at the bottom right of the pop-up.

Note: If you have already added a Software Provider during the current disclosure cycle, the ‘Step 2’ of the ‘Add provider’ pop-up will instead display a confirmation of your selected Provider(s).

  1. Once completed, the Software Provider will be added to your account and displayed on the Disclosure API page.

Removing access to a Software Provider

If you decide to remove a Software Provider, you can do so from the ‘Disclosure API’ Settings page:

  1. Locate the Software Provider you wish to remove.

  2. Select the bin icon next to the Software Provider’s name.

  1. A confirmation window will appear. Select ‘Remove software provider’ to confirm the removal.

  1. Once removed, the Software Provider will no longer have access to your response.
